A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies
I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good characters, and my enemies for their intellects. A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies. - Oscar Wilde

Lydia Shum Din-Ha,21st July 1945 - 19 Febuary 2008

Lydia Shum Din-Ha, also known as Lydia Sum (沈殿霞; 21st July 1945 - 19 Febuary 2008, was a legendary Hong Kong comedienne, MC , and actress known for her portly figure, signature dark rimmed glasses and bouffant hairstyle. She was affectionately known to peers and fans as Fei-fei (肥肥, literally Fat Fat, Fat Sister or Fatty). She appeared in numerous Hong kong Films and was an iconic TVB entertainer over forty years. For a brief spell in the 1990s Shum left TVB to work at rival ATV.
Shum died on Febuary 19 2008 from liver cancer, aged 62, following a prolonged bout of complications. (excerpt from wiki)
She has finally departed to a better world and has ended her long struggle with cancer. You know i grew up on her shows, she was one of my favorite Chinese actress/comedian. I would watch everyone of her shows on Channel 8 or on Cable. I've seen her pictures of her after being released from hospital. It was just too painful to see them, so i decided to put up a picture of her as i would like to remember her.Dear Lydia,
You will be sorely missed by this long time fan, I guess i was rather unhappy that you would no longer grace the screen live on television. Your films although old reruns have brought me much joy and pleasure in my teens. I was kinda upset for awhile, but at least now i can blog this down and pen down my thoughts. Whenever i watch reruns of your shows, i would reminisce the good old days, a happier time, a more innocent time. I thank you and will remember you always.
May your soul rest in peace.

Funny note about men from a korean show
Watched this korean show on channel u.
There was a group of middle aged women at a table talking about men.
It really made me laugh my ass off.
1. The nice guys are either poor or ugly.
2. The rich or good looking, single guys are not interested in them.
3. The rich, good looking, nice guys are married.
4. The rich, good looking guys interested in them, are playboys.
5. The rich, good looking guy, nice guys who are not married, are gay.
6. The rich, good looking guys, single, straight, non playboy guys who are interested in them must be a few screws loose in their head.
So cynical and jaded!
